Brad Paisley Debuts Unreleased Love Song “First Cousins”

-You are in a middle of
a tour right now, right? -We are, yeah.
It is almost done. The summer is almost over.
Have you had a good one? -I’ve had a great summer,
absolutely. I haven’t seen that many
concerts, but I might come to Jones Beach.
-Oh, yeah, it’s tomorrow night. -Yeah, come out.
-Tomorrow night. -It’d be great.
[ Cheers and applause ] -I heard that you have a new
pre-show ritual with the band. -We do dodgeball, which is —
[ Light laughter ] What happened is I built this
garage and put a room above it, and they said, “What do you want
to put up there, like, an apartment
or something?” I said, “No, make it a gym.” And the next thing you know,
we put a piece of blue tape across the floor and we were
beating each other senseless with dodgeballs. It’s the most “Game of Thrones,”
brutal, that’s us. -Yeah, that’s you guys
right there. And has Blake Shelton been over
to play you? -No, you know, Blake had — he
had Tommy John surgery recently, which is that thing
pitchers get. I don’t know what it was,
but it’s like — [ Laughter ] So he’s sort of
on the disabled roster. -I wonder what happened
to him, yeah. -But when he’s better, I’m gonna
to beat him senseless. [ Laughter ] -That’s crazy.
And then, you got the CMA’s coming up in November.
How do you prepare for that? -Do you have any advice? -Oh, please, you’re great.
This is the 11th time you’re doing this?
-The way we prepare, really, is to just look around
at what’s funny and try to come up with —
But there’s nothing. [ Laughter ] -Yeah, you’re right, there’s
nothing going on to make fun of. You’re right.
-But it’ll be fun, because they just announced
Carrie’s pregnant. So there’s
some material right there. -Exactly, yeah. [ Cheers and applause ] If you go to see Brad Paisley
in concert, you get great songs, obviously, but you should go see
him in concert because you tell stories,
you tell jokes, you’re very funny.
-Thank you. -And you actually sing some
songs that aren’t even released. -Yeah no, I sometimes —
I’ve actually got a guitar here. Sometimes,
it’s really a great… [ Cheers and applause ] …it’s a great test round.
It’s a great way to try out material. I just wrote one recently that’s
about that first romance. Do you remember yours?
First love? -Sure, yeah. ♪♪ -I bet it’s a similar story
to mine, you know. ♪ First date ♪ ♪ First kiss ♪ ♪ First taste ♪ ♪ Of loving ♪ ♪ You were my first ♪ ♪ Cousin ♪ [ Laughter ] [ Cheers and applause ] ♪ We got in ♪ ♪ Big trouble ♪ ♪ With your dad ♪ ♪ My uncle ♪ [ Laughter and applause ] ♪ ‘Cause you were my first ♪ ♪ And I’ll always
be your first ♪ ♪ And our children ♪ ♪ Will be second cousins ♪ [ Cheers and applause ] -You did the math right. That’s how you do
it right there. Brad Paisley! [ Cheers and applause ] I could relate to that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very, very much so. What song are you doing
for us tonight? -“Water,” it’s a summer song.
-All right, good. -We’ll celebrate
the summer of 2018. -Brad Paisley, once again!

  1. Damn he should know the internet will make a meme out of that song title. โ€œFirst cousinsโ€? Country LOVE music? LUL

  2. OMG…now EVERYONE knows why America has NEVER been great:. Incest, Insanity, and a Disgrace.

Grossssss but TRUTH. Deal with it.

  3. lol beat him senseless Brad!! But Jimmy's laugh gets me every time!! I can't wait for the country dynamic duo to host once again!! #BradAndCarrie <3

  4. I would love to see Brad in concert..he must put on a great show and he plays a killer guitar! And he's so funny ๐Ÿ˜‚

  5. I'm a country fan, and a lot of the country that's big on radio today is just pop garbage that is barely disguised as country. But I've been a fan of Brad for a long time, and his comedy chops are no joke. (pun intended) If you liked this, check out one of his early singles like "Me Either" or "I'm gonna miss her". He's always had jokes, and good ones too.

  6. What do you call it when every White neighborhood, every White school, and every White workplace are chased down and made non-White?
Would you call that diversity? And why is diversity only forced upon White neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces?
No one ever says that a Black anything is too Black and needs diversity.
Diversity means chasing down White flight. It is a codeword meaning White genocide.
    Anti-racist is a codeword for anti-White.

  7. The joke here is that rural Americans are often stereotyped as partaking in intimate relations with their family members.

  8. Way to go Brad. Makin money off of the people you make fun of. Idiots keep buying his shit though. Wonder what would happen if he wrote a song using steteotypes of poor black people.

  9. GOTDAYUM… Take your hat off in the house, ba-hoy. Joe Bob, of the famous Joe Bob & the Grizzlers, would NEVER be so inconsiderate… but he said he likes that song.. and you stole his act..

  10. The triple threat Brad Paisley. Easily one of the greatest players in history. Country (not a fan of the current genre) music has an incredible crop of true legends right now. Vince Gill, Paisley, Urban. Not to mention the session cats like Brent Mason. Unreal the caliber of pickers today. Add John Mayer and you've got the start of a Greatest Living guitar player list. We live in an incredible time.

  11. First girlfriend, First kiss,
Invited me to her little playhouse in her backyard, to play mommydaddy told me "now you kiss me".
Then at recess she shared told her mom she wanted to marry me, mom told her mommy=#Sandage, so we have to break up.

  12. Love Brad Paisley! Saw him in Sweden when he was here summer 2017. It was the most amazing concert ever and a moment I will remember for the rest of my life. Love!

  13. Brad is the New Godfather of Country Music right now. Keeps his music classic rock country while finding ways to keep it modern.

  14. Not a huge country guy, especially not modern country, but goddamn. This just made me question my music tastes.
