When trolls attacked her daughter with disabilities, this mom fought back

I couldn’t believe the amount of hate and ignorance that was out there Children like Sophia are children. To be honest, many people don’t even view her as a human and I’m really just fighting for the most basic human right. She deserves respect and she deserves dignity It was shocking to hear that news that your child might not survive birth I was 34 weeks pregnant when I found out that Sophia had facial, hand and foot deformities. I went to an ultrasound at 34 weeks and that’s when they told me I needed to see a specialist right away. They were trying to figure out what they were looking at in the ultrasound. It felt like my world was caving in Sophia is 10 years old and she is profoundly disabled and she was also born with facial deformities she has Rett syndrome and that causes seizures, issues with breathing tremors, and it takes away your ability to walk, talk and pretty much do anything for yourself but she is the strongest human being I know She’s sweet and she’s positive and she loves to cuddle When I would first take Sophia out when she was a baby people were very mean and they were cruel I felt really depressed and sad that people couldn’t accept my child and see how amazing she really is and from that point on I began to retreat and stay a bit more private. I would have to muster up the, just, so much strength just to go to the grocery store only to be brought back down again because someone else did something mean or stared and whispered or completely avoided usI have fought for Sophia’slife since the day she was bornI know that one dayI will lose her to one of her conditionsThree, almost three years ago that I made the decision to no longer hide and no longer allow my fear and my pain to control me and what I didYou don’t hear from parents
I didYou don’t hear from parentsof profoundly disabled children
You don’t hear from parentsof profoundly disabled childrenand one with facial deformities
of profoundly disabled childrenand one with facial deformitiesvery often
and one with facial deformitiesvery often My fight turned into a global fight, really when I fought against Twitter to take down a post using Sophia’s image to promote abortion for disabled children and I was like ‘I’m no long going to take this’ I’m not going to sit back and allow people to do harmful things to my child and to others who are different and so I fought back and the more I was in the public eye, the more hate and criticism and judgments I received but I’ve gotten use to it to be honest and I think it’s a pretty powerful place to be because I’m unstoppable now. I’m going to continue to fight and I’m going to continue to expose the hate so that we can change it really I feel like that’s what I love more than anything else that I do is helping others and it’s what I’m meant to do, it’s a part of who I am which before, I didn’t
do, it’s a part of who I am which before, I didn’t know who I was and this
which before, I didn’t know who I was and this has really put me in the place
know who I was and this has really put me in the place where I am no longer
has really put me in the place where I am no longer hiding, myself
where I am no longer hiding, myself and I am being real

taught us what success and value and beauty mean but

I would like to challenge everyone else to create their own definition When you see true beauty, and you realize that

  1. So sad there are people out there who would call this sweet little girl a monster or say she should have been aborted. No one here on earth has the right to judge who lives or dies. She is here because God wants her here. Whether she can be a productive member of society means nothing. She is loved and needed is this family's life. There are many people with all their faculties and pretty faces who are nothing more than parasites if you want to start comparing people. This girl deserves love respect and kindness

  2. I have seen some other videos about Sophia and some of the comments are truly cruel and gut wrenching. This family is very special and deserving of all support they receive. As an aunt of a nephew with Cornelia de Lange syndrome this story hits close to home. We as humans need to dig deep and find that part of our souls that is loving and kind to ALL other humans-especially defenseless, vulnerable children. When you open your hearts to children like Sophia and my nephew you will be surprised and blessed at what that relationship can do for you.

  3. The fact that her Mother has to even speak the words she deserves all those things, speaks volumes of our society, and how hateful people can be for nothing.

  4. I cannot believe someone said you should have aborted her. Abortion is murder of a baby plain and simple and it is so wrong. Abortion is wrong. People on death row have more rights than an unborn baby. Shame on people who are for the murder of babies.

  5. THIS VIDEO JUST MADE ME SHRED TEARS !!! MAKES ME LOVE MY DAUGHTERS EVEN MORE !!! R.I.P SOPHIA SWEET LIL ANGEL 🙏

  6. I feel so sorry for her and family. She lost her brother and then her daughter.
RIP. All of you are an inspiration to the world.

  7. Whos here when she passed away??
Rest in piece sweet angle 💔🤧😭❤😥😪😣

  8. I am guilty of the very thing I know people should never do and that is judging someone on their appearance alone and it's especially awful to do when they were born the way they are so it's not like it was their choice. As a mother I have a admit how very much ashamed I feel for simply being so heartless 💔 about something as beautiful as The Gift Of Life and it truly takes Angels like this Mommy and Daddy that have been so dedicated to giving this child the opportunity to live and hopefully spread awareness of the normalities this wonderful child does have in common with other children as well as human beings! We are all just looking for love and acceptance when it comes to our human nature. I honestly feel like (and I hope everyone can keep in mind this is only my opinion) more often than not People who see this little girl not as a person but as a different not acceptable to others child with such a noticeable difference that their fears and comments usually come out before their minds can have time to really think about what it is they are fixing to say. The fear of anyone or anything that is outside of someone's personal comfort zone is automatically thought to be non worthy, non human and meant to be kept in hiding inside some families back bedroom that is always shut off from the rest of the world and it's way past time for all of the people of this hateful nature to come together as a whole and change the way we have gone out of the way just to stay away from the situation where were confronted by these people who have just as many rights and reasons to be able to go wherever they want, when ever they want!!!!

  9. Can you imagine sitting down to dinner with your normal looking family at a restaurant and this freak sitting down beside you with her parents who are out for the money grab? Blech, disgusting! Bad enough when you go out and some fucks want to bring their retarded children out, let alone this thing.

  10. hello beautiful family. Thanks for sharing the precious Sophia with the world. She is a miracle from God. We all are because of His goodness and loving kindness. Stay strong family you guys are true champions and Sophia an enormous winner. Any one has a problem with Sophia has a serious problem with themselves. Love you family and keep on keeping on

  11. I watch the videos on the "Special Books By Special Kids" channel and found out just not even 20 minutes ago that Sophia had passed away. Such a sweet, sweet girl she was, but an awful, horrible shame for her to have passed away at such a very young age. She was 10

  12. People should understand the little stare, all uncommon looks are getting a little stare. After that people need to learn that someone just looks different and otherwise is the same.

  13. How could these people think it's okay to make fun and throw insults at this poor little girl? They think it's funny, but it's not. It's just pure evil

  14. Look at those eyes..if she didn't have facial deformation she would have been soo gorgeous !!!
But don't get me wrong she still was.
    Rest in peace little Angel.
